build 129 is available fr{@build 129 availableMarekevillabs@zoznam.sk 217.75.73.34>A[into AIM profile
feature: list all songs by a current artist
statusbar help

note: previous build introduced temporary WMP plugin that should allow fetching info from Windows Media Player without using special skin or running in compact mode. As most of you reported, the solution didn't work. In order to make it work you have to go into Windows Media Player (version 9!) and do fillowing:
In Tools menu choose Plugins > Options
In following dialog click "Add ..." button
Pick file np_plugin.dll (should be located in your Windows Media Player directory if you chose to install the plugin during EvilLyrics installation)
Click OK to close dialog

And then again in Tools > Plugins activate "Now Playing" plugin

"Now playing" plugin (author's page) plugin puts the name of song played in WMP into its window title, so it's retrievable by EvilLyrics

Old method (using the skin) is supported again (unlike in build 128)

I would like to kindly ask you, if you use development build please report if it works, how it works, whether you like it, how would you improve new features (made since official build 127) etc ... feedback is really needed before we make these changes official.

download it here

Thank you
Marek

I'm using Winamp 5.03, but Evillyrics is detecting Foobar2000 (the little alien icon is showing in the status bar). Everything else is working fine, though.
Great job Cheesy thanks!

I followed the instructions for installing the plugin in Windows Media Player, and its working great.  Cheesy

Curiously, I couldn't see the 'Preferences' or 'ELLO' icon on the toolbar the first time.  huh

I had to reset the toolbar in "customize", before they appeared.

I love the "All songs by current Artist" feature as well.  Smiley

works great for me with winamp 5.03 and musicmatch except..

the including lyrics in aim profile (which i love the option) but:
it replaces the entire file, so it seems it is impossible to have a profile with the lyrics of the song under it, or something... maybe add a comment line to above the lyrics and after so each time the song changes it will scan for that comment line and replace whats in between? Just a sugestion...

but the program is still great and thanks a lot

i was thinking about such option too, but the problem is that maximum length of the profile is 1024 bytes ... any idea how to solve it? without creating other options for lenght etc ...

i thought as long as you just changed the file directly (not through my aim->edit profile) it could be as long as your heart desires... i could be wrong though...

oh... and maybe it would be cool to just write to the profile the name of the song as a link, and link to the lyrics which el downloaded... then people would know what song you were currently listening to... and could click for the lyrics... hmmm... just a thought

"The Plug-in could not be added"

(my winxp is installed on partition E:, does it have anything to do with that maybe?)

I got an error during install that stated it could not find Windows Media Player directory or something like that...  Now I can't find the file: np_plugin.dll anywhere on my hard drive.  Can this file be downloaded?

I don't know if it has be@@bug in karaoke!andylong 151.29.196.1:n the karaoke engine: even if it looks labelled in the karaoke file, the last line of a lyric is ignored by the engine. Example:
(last lines of "desert rose" by Sting)

The lyric file says:

Sweet desert rose
This memory of hidden hearts and souls
This desert flower
This rare perfurme is the sweet intoxication of love

the .KAS says:

03:43.0: Sw
03:47.8: Th
03:51.4: Th
03:55.0: Th

Everything works well with the first 3 lines, but the karaoke engine would stop at "This desert flower" unless I put a CrLf after "love" (inserting a blank line after the last good one).

Hoping this will be useful - or has already been corrected!

andylong

ps. great program, I had found nothing like this before!

pps. for Saliman: I have no problem and I have no drive C: at all, just F: where everything is installed and stored...

I don't know if it has been reported already, but my Build 127 has a little bug in the karaoke engine: even if it looks labelled in the karaoke file, the last line of a lyric is ignored by the engine.

I think something like that was reported here

You need to make this work with "jetAudio". That is the program I use for music.
