I installed Evil Lyrics and it works perfectly with the Winamp player I have, but for some reason everytime I open "Lyrics Organiser" it does not open. You can see it on the taskbar, but when I click on it nothing happens.
Any ideas as to why this is happening??

Lyrics organiser worked the first time I installed it, but then I had this probem with it.
Re-installed it several times, but still the same thing.

Any ideas on how to get it working again?
Thanks

I can't see any reason for this problem.. Hm, tell me some more info: what OS are you using, and which version are you using.. Also, tell me if you are using latest ELLO (Lyrics Organizer) version (that can be downloaded here)..
If it doesn't work with the latest version (please be sure to have the latest version, as I posted it on the forums yesterday), try going to the folder where ELLO and EvilLyrics are installed, and remove a file called ello.exe.manifest

Hope that helps!  wink

My OS is Windows Xp Professional v2002

I downloaded the setup file for the newest Version of ELLO (that you gave the link to ) and the same thing happened. It wouldnt let me view the setup of ELLO.
Removing the ello.exe.manifest file did nothing.

thanks for the reply.

this is strange.. hm, ello doesn't have a setup installation, it just runs the .exe file, as it doesn't need any other dependency file as the ones that EL does..

answer some questions and we'll try to solve the problem:

- When it opened for the first time, did it load your lyrics?
- Is it running from the same folder as EvilLyrics?
- Do you think that might be wrong files in your lyrics folder?
- Do you use multiple monitors?

Thanks..

I'm preparing a debug version to check where the program crashes (if it really does) and so we can solve the problem.. but i will be able to finish it only in the weekend..

for now, what I can think is that the window is being positioned somwhere outside the screen... maybe you changed the resolution of your screen after you runned it for the first time.. try increasing the resolution and find for the window somewhere..

This happened to me a while ago, I think after an  explorer crash. I don't really remember many details but I think this is what I did to solve it.

I right clicked on the taskbar button and from the menu selected Maximize. (Restore was strangely greyed out).

ELLO maximized to cover the whole screen. Then I closed it by clicking on the
  • button.

Then I went into the program folder and deleted the ello.exe.manifest file.

When I started ELLO again, everything was back to normal. I could maximize, minimize and restore as usual.

Hope this helps. Smiley
