I think the new karaoke file tells EL when to press down. Does EL know when the line is blank?

I think this is important because most lyrics come with blank lines separating paragraphs, and if you only pick the .kas file and the txt with the lyrics have different number of blank lines, then the karaoke won't be correct.

All this is a guess

You are right, if EL saved blank lines it would be much harder for finding compatible lyrics. But happily it doesn't save info about blank lines, neither info about white spaces before the words

yes, I made 4 by now.

seeing that you made the program available to download with eMule (which didn't work when I tried), can I suggest that next version sends the lyric with the kas and then you compress them all, place a ed2k link here and let people download everything?

I suggest this because you already have one song with three kas files, apart from being unneeded, it clutters, you don't know which one to pick, and you can save everyone's bandwitdh (including you) if we just get the kas with the lyric.

btw, there's a user called "anonymous"? or, I didn't know anonymous can upload kas files?

btw, where can I vote bad kas files?

1. yes, once we have larger database of .kas files we might be distributing it using some p2p network.

2. anyway, there's quite often different version of the same song with different lenght, so user intervention is needed in most cases. it just can't be done automatically

3. it assingn name 'anonymous' to posted karaoke file if user is not logged.

btw ... is there anyone using edonkey network who can help me distribute files? i guess link i provided didn't work because i was the only one who shared file at that time and i was behind firewall (lowID or something?) ... if some 2-3 people had file in their shared directories it would go much smoother i guess.

I don't think that enough songs have same artist and same title but different lyrics to affect the overall improve that comes from adding the text with the kas.

Downloading the text means you save time and bandwidth (google search, parse the results, open first result, parse page).

Of course this means more bandwidth for people downloading text+kas from your site, but I am sure people will prefer to download "December 2003" new karaokes than click by one by one.

I have 900 lyrics and compressed with zip are just 1MB and with rar or 7zip 590kB

I added the file in my shares and set it to release priority, but I am in dial-up and don't have eMule always on. Better than nothing though ;)

Also, if you want to share the file with Shareaza, it connects to edonkey and Gnutella2, this last one designed to find a file even when there's just one copy of it.
