Upon installation, I received an alert from my Virus/Adware blocker that the file ExtractDLL.dll is adware associated with "PornKings," and was promptly deleted. Clearly, this leads me to several concerns regarding the safety and use of this product, as well as it's functionality without such a DLL (if the former were merely an error), considering EvilLyrics won't boot without ExtractDLL.dll. Anyone care to shed any light on the situation?

i think it's false alert, ExtractDLL.dll is a "plugin" for NSIS installer for unpacking archives. EvilLyrics downloads some files when needed from evillabs.sk (mainly dlls related to VB6 runtimes) and uses ExtractDLL to unpack them

it won't boot without ExtractDLL.dll? can you see extractdll in your evillyrics folder? because i can't ... and i can easily run EvilLyrics without it. Actually ExtracDLL is *integral* part of EvilLyrics installer, not evillyrics itself. So, this dll is embedded into setup.exe ... you shoudn't be supposed to even see it. Probably when you install EviLyrics, installer unpacks all embedded dlls into install directory (or memory) ... installs the program .. and deletes those files afterwards ... so possibly extractdll can be seen during installation process ...

If you antivirus stops Evillyrics installation on Extractdll.dll , you can save it ... and hex compare it with version from my previous post (extractdll.zip) and see it's the same to the last bit
