help me it still doesn't work!!
i tried to reinstall it, to update filter, to give all permissions to EL folder in Programs folder, but nothing!!!
i have vista and use the latest version of Itunes.
Please help me i love this stuff

Alright, I formatted my computer and reinstalled everything.
EL worked well until last night.
I went to bed and was listening to some sleeping music, it was faithfully downloading lyrics.
I woke up and it was not looking for lyrics.
"Lyrics not found"
I clicked to submit the lyrics: I get an error message "No URL detected"
So I update the filters,
Restart everything (Except the computer)
Turn off the firewall
When I try again it still doesn't work
So I reset to defaults
Still it won't function.
It was doing this before.
I run AVG
windows firewall (with exceptions for EL)
For some reason the proggie is not reaching out to the internet.
Somewhere between searching and finding the lyrics get lost.
I suspect that since this was working last night and now it doesn't that there is a program conflict.
I find this to be one of the most valuable programs for communicating music quickly and would be very happy if it would work again.
For further information please contact me and I'll provide what is necessary.

it should work again, sorry. just restart evillyrics, or update your filters (Preferences/Advanced/Update button)

Yeah, what's up with that? I got a new laptop, and now it doesn't seem to work anymore. I also uninstalled it, and tried to update filters. Nothing.

 Still doesnt work for me Using itunes, retrieves song name and artist but then when searching just says lyrics not found  Tried adding exceptions in windows firewall, updating filters, reinstalling, resetting to default settings and just about everything you can think of

I'm new to this forum since am also experiencing the exact same problem. This seemed the most likely place to find a way to fix it. Unfortunately, all I've found are many other users like me who have been experiencing the same problem with no resolution in sight. Also, I noticed there's been hardly any response from a "tech support" person providing users some support and those few suggestions they did provide (updating filters, restarting, etc) obviously don't work. Has anyone had any luck with getting it to work again or should we just move on and consider EL history?  |

sorry, there is a response from a "tech support" in other thread. Yhere really was a problem with evillyrics recently but it was fixed on Sunday. Now manual updating of the filters should help fixing the problem. Just go to EvilLyrics preferences, go to Advanced tab and click "Update" button. Just tested here and it works. Is anyone still experinecing problem even after this fix?
In next version of EvilLyrics the filter update will be more reliable. It's supposed to be automatic even now but it doesn't work in some instances (i.e. it doesn't work, if you received filter update already on the same day the filers were updated on the server, but you receive it before update. EL then assumes you already have this filters with today's date and that everything is ok. Then you have to update filters manually)
